In October 1996, Congress passed Public Law 104-262, the
Veterans' Health Care Eligibility Reform Act of 1996. This legislation paved
the way for the creation of a Medical Benefits Package - a standard enhanced
health benefits plan generally available to all enrolled veterans. Like other
standard health care plans, the Medical Benefits Package emphasizes
preventive and primary care, offering a full range of outpatient and
inpatient services.
To enroll you must completeForm 10-10EZ : Application for Health Benefits
and send it along with a copy of the DD214 to

Education
|
There are a variety of educational opportunities awaiting
Veterans who are interested in taking advantage of their Veterans benefits.
Programs such as the Vietnam Era G.I. Bill, VEAP (Veterans Educational
Assistance Program), Montgomery G.I. Bill, are available for active
duty and reserve Veterans. There are a number of
stipulations to these programs, and it is best for the Veteran to review
their options in person at the VNOC Outreach Center with a qualified staff
person. Additionally, staff at the Northern Essex Community College can also
be of assistance:

Vocational Rehabilitation for Disabled Veterans
|
To request vocational rehabilitation services through the V.A.
Veterans must be disabled 20% or higher to qualify. The following form must
be completed:
V.A. form 28-1900 “Application for Vocational
Rehabilitation”

Application for VA Disability
|
|
To apply for either service or non-service connected
disability through the Veterans Administration the following forms must be completed:
V.A. 21-526 “Application for
Compensation”
V.A. 21-22 “ Appointment of Veterans Service Organization as Claimant's Representative”

Mass. Chapter 115 Benefits
|
|
This is an entitlement benefit for honorably discharged Massachusetts
Veterans, administered through the Veterans Service Officer (Veterans Agent)
of the city/town where the Veteran resides. The maximum award ranges to
$1,500 YEARLY Application to be filled out and DD 214 send to:

comprehensive medical examinations at the nearest VA Medical Center to their
