The Outreach Center, our keystone program, has been in continuous operation since 1985. Established in Lawrence, the Center started as a storefront operation, staffed largely by volunteers, to provide support and advocacy to Vietnam Veterans. Through the years, the focus of the Center has expanded to accommodate the over 36,000 Veterans in our region who are eligible for care. We provide a continuum of care to Veterans and their families, from the very basic food and shelter needs to advocacy, information, referral, career and education services.

The Center also sponsors a number of outreach initiatives to senior citizens, young people and families of Veterans. Two full-time employees and four or more volunteers staff the Center, which is located at the Veterans Campus at 10 Reed Street in the former church building. This program is funded in part through a contract with the Mass. Dept. of Veterans Services, US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development and private sources.

The Veterans Mansion

The Veterans Mansion, which opened in 1997, is a transitional housing program for homeless Veterans. At any given point, this facility serves as home to 22 homeless Veterans as they seek to find jobs and stabilize themselves before entering back into the community. This one-of-a-kind service for homeless Veterans has received much public acclaim.
